Discusion

Walk to Work day went well.  Handed out flowers to walkers on K Rd.

We are planning Open Streets for April 12.  Ak Transport is closing half of Quay st.  We are operating a red carpet with velvet ropes and a paparazzi machine.

Bills to pay were $4 for rubber bands for the free walking map handed out at Grey Lynn Festival, thanks to Andy and Eleanor.  Walking Pins from stickemup.com 1000 purchased for $607.32.  These are to be handed out free at events around Auckland and NZ.

Please make submission on Chamberlain Park.

There is a new pocket park on Symonds st where Bungalow Bills was.

We will followup the Law Changes for cycleways.  See this article in the Herald

Mike spoke of the public access to the waterfront and is working on this for the Unitary Plan

Franklin Rd submissions need to be in by 28 Nov.

Glen Innes to Tamaki shared path open day is on Saturday 22 Nov.

Andy will attend consolation on the changes to Chamberlain Park on Tuesday

Graeme spoke of his work to turn the Dominion Rd/ New North road back into a street intersection, not a motorway.

Andy is working on the Slow Zones suggested in the City Centre plan of 2012

Andy attended a talk on Engine Braking and has sent the presentation to Mike and the Freemans Bay Resident s Assoc

Bob raise the issues in the Herald article on signs and cafe tables.

Ponsonby Park was talked about and support for all space was reiterated.

Andy to follow up the Franklin Rd White Cross drive which is used on the pedestrian lights.

  • AT Wayfinding project
  • Non motorised Users Audit process
  • Ponsonby Park was discussed
  • Chamberlain Park new walk ways
  • Unitec plans for residential development for 3000 people, see unitary plan submissions.

 

20 May Meeting

The meeting discussed the fact vehicles speeds on Ponsonby rd had increased beyond 40 kph and that another campaign for lower speeds should be encouraged.

Walk Auckland sent a letter of support to SkyPath for the resource consent process.

Andy and Graham now have 6 weekly meetings with Auckland Transports , Matt Rednall.

We looked at the plans presented to the Cycle Advisory Group on which Andy is a representative.  The proposals for Beach Road and Carlton Gore roads look good but the meeting was confused by the Mt Roskill safe routes and requires more information.  Andy to ask for a meeting.

Bob was in the NZ Herald today about his work with the Spring street pensioners.

Bob updated us on the Spring St pensioner flats and the SHA.

Andy will followup Edinburgh st

We have had the Council Infrastructure committee accept a report on Cycling in the city.  We must ensure paths are not rebranded as shared paths.

Andy told of Wellington advocacy visit to Parliament and the Agencies.

Bob noted as accident at the Ped lights by the Union centre on Gt Nth Rd and asked what data is collected when a person is run down by a car.

We will attend the stakeholders sessions for the K Rd Plan and the Newton Plan this month.

Submission completed for the AT Code of Practice.
